Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), this degree provides a Graduate Basis for Registration. This registration is the initial step towards becoming a chartered psychologist. The programme also includes an optional work placement, offering valuable real-life experience.

• First year: Core Areas of Psychology, Philosophical Roots, Research Approaches and Academic Skills in Psychology, Counselling and Psychotherapeutic Approaches, Introduction to Quantitative Analysis, Introduction to Qualitative Research, and Therapy, Ethics and Human Rights.
• Second year: Research and Professional Skills, Biological Psychology, Classic Paradigms in Cognitive Psychology, Developmental Psychology in Childhood and Adolescence, Individual Differences, New and Critical Theories in Social Psychology, Further Research Methods, Intermediate Counselling Skills 1, and Intermediate Counselling Skills 2.
• Final year: Dissertation, Become Unstoppable: Professional Skills, and optional modules (choose two) from: Atypical Child Development, Brain and Behaviour, Educational Psychology, Effective and Affective Thinking and Processing, Forensic Psychology, Media Psychology, Occupational Psychology, Psychology of Global Issues in the 21st Century, Psychology and Health, Psychology of Mental Health, The Psychology of Extreme Violence, and Work Placement. Optional counselling modules (choose two) from: Expressive Therapies, Bereavement and Loss, Counselling and Mental Health, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy Skills.

Assessment methods will vary depending on the modules you choose to study. You can expect exams, research reports, and essays. The remaining assessments will be divided among assignments, practical reports, group work, and presentations.
