The English Language and Linguistics integrated joint offers students the opportunity to explore a wide range of language related topics in a stimulating and multi-cultural environment. By means of high quality teaching and a flexible, responsive and vocationally relevant curriculum, students will learn about how meaning is created, not only through choices of words and grammatical structures, but through wider social and cultural contextual factors. Students will learn about the diverse ways in which languages in general, and the English language in particular, vary and change according to time, geographical location, and to factors such as the status, class or gender of the speakers. Students will develop a range of subject specific and transferable skills, including higher order conceptual and communication skills, enterprise, digital literacy and IT awareness, all of which are of immense value in graduate employment.

UCAS Tariff - 48 points

Equivalent experience. We can consider applicants with other qualifications or relevant experience so if you do not have 48 UCAS points, please make sure you outline this experience within your personal statement. This can also be assessed through an alternative assessment route such as an academic essay.

Prepare for Foundation Pathway:
We will consider mature applicants (age 21 or over) who have not achieved 48 UCAS points (equivalence) from prior level 3 qualifications, if you have a keen interest in this subject area or hold relevant experience. You will be required to attend a compulsory Prepare for foundation assessment day where you will take part in a variety of activities which will assess your suitability for the course. If you are a UK student enrolling on a full-time Foundation Degree or a Bachelor degree programme at the University of Wolverhampton in 2023/4, your fee for this academic year will be £9,250. This is a yearly fee, and will increase with inflation in subsequent years (in line with the government’s fee requirements).
