The BSc (Hons) Film and Television Production Technology Top-Up Degree is a direct progression route for those who have achieved a Foundation Degree (or equivalent) in the subject area.
The award is designed for anyone seeking a career in the highly competitive, yet ultimately exciting, world of film and television. Past students have gone on to work at major film studios and broadcasters including the BBC and ITV. Others have set up video production companies and become registered freelancers.
Whether you want a career as a film or TV Director, Producer, Editor, Camera Operator, Lighting Designer or Sound Engineer, our course is specifically designed to give you the tools (and the professional portfolio) to kickstart your career.
During the course, students are challenged to create a feature length film from script to screen - to be filmed in just 72 hours! The finished piece will be premiered at the Lichfield Guildhall in the summer.
The course combines practical filmmaking experiences and heaps of creativity to develop sustainable digital production skills for employment within the realms of film and television. Coursework is specifically tailored to provide practical opportunities to build a professional showreel of work. Learning is centred on experiencing the professional practice of working within a production crew.
