Choose to study one of our specialist pathways and you can tailor your studies in your preferred area of interest from year one. Follow the pathway throughout your studies and you'll graduate with a degree in you chosen specialism, e.g., BSc (Hons) Psychology (Forensic Perspectives).

We’ll teach you the core areas of psychology, which include developmental, cognitive, social, biopsychology and individual differences.

You can follow your preferred specialist pathway throughout the programme or sample a range of these professional areas. In the final year you can explore various topics in more depth by choosing from different module options.

We create a supportive and lively learning environment in which you’ll learn through teamwork and collaboration. We’ll support you in developing your research skills from day one until your final year, when you’ll work with your supervisor to design and carry out your own psychological research project.

Professional work experience
Students undertake a wide variety of placements, working in schools, with community groups and charity organisations, helping to undertake research projects or develop campaigns. They also work with sports organisations as trainers, in drug rehabilitation centres, and in healthcare settings.

Graduate opportunities
Our Psychology graduates work in a wide variety of different fields including clinical or occupational psychology, marketing, teaching, research, human resources and healthcare. You’ll also be well-prepared for postgraduate study in health psychology or neuropsychology.

On this course you will study a selection of modules, which may include: Contemporary Issues in Psychology; Understanding Human Behaviour; Professional Development for Psychologists; Introduction to Research Skills for Psychologists; Business Psychology; Critical Psychology; Forensic Psychology; Health Behaviour Change in Context; Psychobiology of Stress and Illness.
