This MSc allows you to gain a professional nurse qualification and register with the NMC. The course provides you with the skills and knowledge to provide person-centred, compassionate care and is an exciting opportunity for graduates to undertake a professional qualification whilst studying for a Master’s degree.
This is a dynamic, interactive professional course which places the needs of individuals and their families at its centre. The Programme Team are committed to supporting students to realise their potential to become compassionate, competent and autonomous nurses, who are able to meet current and future healthcare demands.
The course is delivered by experienced registered nurses who have expertise in both teaching and research and a variety of clinical specialities, including all four fields of nursing across acute and community settings. The team work closely with local acute and community providers to ensure that the course remains contemporary.

Assessments occur in both University and practice. A Practice Assessment Document is used in practice to measure NMC proficiencies. Examinations and coursework are used to assess theory.

To work as a teacher at a state school in England or Wales, you will need to achieve qualified teacher status (QTS). This is offered on this course for the following level:
The following entry points are available for this course:
A first degree (2:1) in a health related subject.
Maths and English at GCSE C/4 or equivalent qualification.
You need to have undertaken 800 hours of appropriate health related practice prior to entry.
Applicants who have been in education in the last three years will be expected to provide an academic reference as part of their UCAS application.
Applicants who have applied for a place on a professional programme who have studied the same or similar programme elsewhere, will be required to provide an academic reference relating to that study regardless of when this study was undertaken. This does not have to be provided with the UCAS application but will be requested if the applicant is suitable for interview.
