To truly understand how sport and exercise affects the body, it’s vital to take an approach rooted in medical insight. On this ground-breaking degree, you’ll investigate how movement prevents disease, nutrition influences health and physical inactivity changes our body.

UCAS Tariff - Not accepted
A level - ABB
Must include two subjects from: Biology (or Human Biology), Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Physical Education or Mathematics. Biology is a preferred subject.
Please note that A-level General Studies, Critical Thinking, Thinking Skills and Global Perspectives are not accepted by King's as one of your A levels.
NOTE: If you are taking linear A levels in England, you will be required to pass the practical endorsement in all Science subjects. This is with the exception of private candidates who are unable to take the practical component.
Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016)

Access to HE Diploma - D: 30 credits M: 15 credits P: 0 credits
Access to Science (or similar subject) with 45 Level 3 credits: 30 must be from units awarded at Distinction, with the remaining 15 Level 3 credits at Merit. Study must cover two subjects areas of Biology (or Human Biology), Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Physical Education or Mathematics.
60 credits altogether are required.
Scottish Higher - BBB
Must be a combination of three Scottish Highers and two Scottish Advanced Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject.
Scottish Advanced Higher - AB
Must be combined with three Scottish Highers. We do not count the Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject. Must include two subjects from: Biology (or Human Biology), Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Physical Education or Mathematics. Biology is a preferred subject.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 33 points
33 points overall or an aggregate score of 16 from three Higher Levels. Must include grade 5 at Higher Level in two of Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Sports Exercise and Health Science or Mathematics.
Notes: The total point score of 33 includes TOK/EE.
IB students studying the new Maths curriculum would be required to study either Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretation at Higher Level if using Maths to meet the subject requirement.
Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H1, H2, H2, H2, H3, H3
Must include two subjects from: Biology (or Human Biology), Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Physical Education or Mathematics. Biology is a preferred subject.

Cambridge International Pre-U Certificate - Principal - D3, M2, M2
Please note that Global Perspectives is not accepted by King’s as one of your Pre-U Principal subjects. Combinations of Pre-U principal subjects and other qualifications (such as A-levels) will be considered. Must include two subjects from: Biology (or Human Biology), Chemistry, Physics, Psychology, Physical Education or Mathematics. Biology is a preferred subject.
If combined with A-Level, M2 would be needed in the subject requirement.
