Course summary

Biomedical Science is at the centre of modern science. Through this profession, you could identify outbreaks of diseases, uncover breakthroughs in medicine and determine the effectiveness of a patient’s treatment.

Gain a solid understanding of how the human body works
On this highly practical degree course you will be equipped with the real-life skills that employers are looking for through a combination of high-quality classroom and laboratory skill classes.

You’ll learn about the latest technologies being applied by biomedical scientists to improve diagnoses and treatments in our new purpose-built laboratory facilities using specialist scientific equipment. In your final year you’ll carry out your own research project and look at how research can be applied to commercial settings.

This course is delivered by Institute of Biomedical Sciences and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered Biomedical Scientists who are highly regarded in their fields.

You’ll be taught by research-active academics and conduct research alongside our biomedical science experts as part of your degree. Our team will support you in achieving your learning goals and work with you in developing your study skills and ability.

Become eligible for HCPC registration (HCPC route with placement)

Biomedical Scientists are a profession in demand in the UK. If choosing the HCPC route with placement you will be eligible to apply for registration as a Biomedical Scientist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) upon successful completion of the programme.

in Applied Science.
