This BA (Hons) Film, Screen and Content Production degree will help you develop into a confident, creative individual who can pitch an idea, shoot, edit and share content and is ready to build a career in the creative, entertainment and media industries.
The course will teach you practical film, moving image and content production skills. You will learn how to take an idea, develop it by writing a script and then go on to produce a creative piece of work such as a film, a short reel or a podcast.
As well as being involved in all aspects of making films, adverts, music and performance videos and podcasts, you will also create compelling material for advertising campaigns by telling stories that help connect brands to audiences across different digital platforms.

The course is tailored to your interests so you will learn how to make long-form film projects as well as crafting short-form, shareable content optimized for distribution on social media applications such as Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

What you'll study
The BA (Hons) Film, Screen and Content Production degree equips you with the skills for a range of careers across the film and screen industries by focusing on the creation of different kinds of content for big screens, laptops and mobile devices.
Along with teaching you the fundamentals of story-telling in the context of film and moving image, the course will teach you the production skills needed to make different types of content targeted at different audiences.

The practically orientated curriculum is designed with assignments that grow in complexity as you develop your skillset. You'll have the chance to step into a variety of roles, gaining broad experience while growing your confidence and expertise.
From coming up with creative ideas to crafting scripts and pitching projects, you'll take your work through every stage of production through to delivery across platforms. As you advance, you'll dive deeper into collaborative projects, taking on new challenges and building a portfolio that showcases your style and creative vision.

Alongside your practical work, you will also explore media theory, connecting critical insights to your creative practice and helping you to understand the trends and trajectories of the sector. This integrated approach equips you with not just production skills, but also cultural understanding, analytical thinking and transferable skills that prepare you for a range of opportunities in the industry and beyond.
