Course summary

The BA ( Hons) Advertising course at USW Cardiff will help prepare you for a career in the dynamic, exciting industry that is Advertising. This degree programme, based in the heart of Cardiff, will give you the opportunity to engage with agencies from day one.

Our highly experienced course team teaches you all aspects of advertising, from how to generate social media content and final campaign outputs (across all media platforms), to consumer behaviour, marketing and psychology. Industry engagement with client-led, ‘real world’ projects and regular guest speakers supplement the curriculum, allowing you to build a portfolio of creative, strategic-led projects over the three years.

When you graduate, you will be ready for industry, leaving university with a wide range of creative and strategic skills, all of which are transferable. Among these are: interpersonal communication, problem-solving, critical thinking, adaptability, project management and leadership skills.

At USW we prepare you for your future career from day one of the course. You’ll explore the full range of careers in the industry from the creative, stragtegic, business to working with diverse clients, you'll work with the advertising industry throughout your degree, and we'll support you to gain valuable experience through internships, work experience and placements .

The University normally requires Mathematics/Numeracy and English at Grade C/4 or above, or their equivalent, but consideration is given to individual circumstances.
