This course is aimed at early career educators, as well as experienced practitioners in health and social care. It is designed to develop your educational knowledge base, and practical teaching skills. The course is flexible to your personal requirements you can take it to the level of qualification that you require.

The course allows you to learn, engage and develop your practice in a multi-professional community which mirrors the workplace. It can be completed either taught (campus-based) or via distance learning.

Applied learning - Work placements

You will be expected to complete teaching activity to support your educational development. For full-time learners who no longer have access to a practice setting, we can support you with this.

• pre-registration nursing and midwifery training in higher education

• NMC registered professionals can gain NMC teacher status upon completion of their postgraduate certificate. Dental trainers have used this course to enhance their eligibility in support of dental trainees. If you are registered with the Society of Radiographers, you are eligible to apply for Practice Educator Accreditation after completion of the Introduction to Healthcare Education module.
