Course summary

Course Overview
Learn to investigate and develop innovative products and creative solutions to some of healthcare’s most significant issues. The rapid development of accurate diagnostic devices, capable of near-patient care, reduces the need for lab testing, accelerates decision making and therefore speeds up treatment.

This programme provides the knowledge of essential concepts for designing and executing experiments in the context of healthcare applications – including diagnostics, point of care and pharmaceuticals.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) advocates for the continued development and wider implementation of accurate, rapid, and affordable POCT, which is crucial for more effective infection identification, regardless of the health care infrastructure.

You’ll further your learning with modules that examine production, implementation and quality assurance, whilst gaining up to date knowledge relating to emerging trends and technologies. Alongside subject-specific knowledge, you’ll also develop your critical thinking, problem solving and digital skills.
