Course summary

Tourism and events can contribute positively to the economy and society of a region. Increasingly, the impact these two industries can have is becoming highly valued. When managed together, with a view to bringing about sustainable change, international tourism and events management can have a lasting impact on the world.
The International Tourism and Events Management degree from Glasgow Caledonian University offers a highly competitive qualification that provides excellent career opportunities around the world.
You will explore events and tourism management through the eyes of the many stakeholders involved. Industry lectures, field trips and work placements provide you with the practical knowledge needed to deliver effective event management and contribute to the development of up-and-coming travel destinations.

Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma (first teaching from September 2016) - DMM

Scottish Higher - ABBB

International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme - 26 points

IB Diploma 26 points

Leaving Certificate - Higher Level (Ireland) (first awarded in 2017) - H1, H2, H3, H3

Scottish HNC - Pass

Level 2 Entry: SQA: 15 Credit: HNC in Tourism/Events or Hospitality Operations with B in the graded unit

Scottish HND - Pass

Level 3 Entry: SQA HND Events Management, HND Travel and Tourism, HND Hospitality Management or HND Activity Tourism, HND Fashion Business with BB in Graded units

Foundation Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 6) - Pass

Accepted as equivalent to one Higher at grade B as part of the overall grade profile of Highers required for entry. Any essential subjects at Higher should still be achieved in addition to the Foundation Apprenticeship.

T Level - M

T Level in Business Support Services or Management and Admin with Merit
