Are you interested in designing innovative technologies and solving complex, real-world challenges? Do you want to play a critical role in a versatile field with endless applications? Our Mechanical Engineering programme will give you a strong foundation in engineering principles, creativity, and problem-solving, equipping you with the skills to make a difference.
The BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering degree is an exciting and forward-looking course that combines technical expertise with practical application. You will explore mechanics, materials science, and thermodynamics, as well as core themes in fluid mechanics, control systems, and advanced manufacturing techniques. The course also includes training in computer-aided design (CAD) and cutting-edge manufacturing like 3D printing and robotics.
Developed in collaboration with BAE Systems, industry insights are embedded within each module, meaning some content will be delivered by industry professionals or in real-world engineering settings. Throughout the course, you will work on technical projects that build on your learning.
You will also have the opportunity to embark upon a 12-week paid placement (subject to security clearance) through the BAE Systems Scholarship. If chosen, this will offer hands-on experience and access to invaluable industry connections.
Our Mechanical Engineering course is taught at our brand new Barrow campus, a purpose-built facility equipped with state-of-the-art resources and technology.
