University of EssexPhilosophyHey! My name is Eva, and I am a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Essex studying PPE (Philosophy, Politics, and Economics). I am originally from Indonesia, so I spent my entire life there, where I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB Diploma) program before moving here. As an international student, I understand how important it is to be able to survive alone in a foreign country where there are thousands of differences faced. Hence, if you are an international student and you do have any questions about moving to the UK, do not hesitate to ask me! I am also happy to assist anyone who has questions about joining clubs/societies, the IB Diploma, academic life at Essex, or even about making friends, and anything about the hobbies and interests we might share (Asian food? Cooking? Traveling? Top reads? Music? Best Kdramas? You are very welcome to ask). Feel free to let me know. : ) -
Fardhin
Brunel University of LondonAerospace EngineeringHello, I'm Fardhin, currently in my second year of studying Aerospace Engineering. Ever since I was young, I’ve been fascinated by planes, how they move through the sky with such power and precision. That curiosity led me to explore how they function, and it’s what inspired me to pursue this field. As I continue my studies, I'm excited about the different paths my future could take. I’m considering becoming a pilot, which would bring me closer to my passion for flight, or possibly working as a chartered engineer, where I could help design and create the next generation of aircraft. Both paths excite me because they offer the chance to combine my love for aviation with the technical knowledge I’m developing now. I’m passionate about pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the aerospace field, and I'm excited to see where my journey takes me. -

Leeds Trinity UniversityPhDI worked within secondary education for 22 years before starting my PhD research at Leeds Trinity University (LTU). My professional practice and personal ethos have always focused on creating opportunities for children to develop and thrive. Working towards attaining my Masters at LTU not only ignited a passion for research but it also highlighted how academics can work collaboratively with families, professionals and the Government to inform policy & practice. My research is focusing on school attendance and why children living in Bradford may refuse to access their education with an aim to develop targeted bespoke interventions for the city's children. The level of support and specialist training I have received during the start of my PhD journey at LTU has been phenomenal. I am looking forward to not only developing my academic skills but to also having future opportunities to contribute to the research community, and to support other students with their learning journey at LTU. Please reach out if you would like to know more about our wonderful university whether it is about course content, living on campus or the wider LTU community. :0) -

Coventry UniversityHistory BA (Hons)I am a current undergraduate second-year history student at Coventry University who is keen to harness the opportunities offered by my course to develop the transferable skills I require to perform to the best of my ability in the world of work. As a member of the Coventry University History Society, I value the opportunity to build connections, socialise with people inside and outside my course, and build up my knowledge and experience in my subject. I regularly search for new interests to broaden my experiences in outdoor and sports activities, including hiking, running, cycling and swimming, which are particularly enjoyable for me. Upon completing my course, I plan to apply for jobs in areas of interest or a graduate scheme. I am interested in a career in civil service, particularly in foreign relations, so my history course provides the perfect opportunity to build on my critical thinking and problem-solving skills, which would be essential for this career path.
