Meet the academics

David Thompson

David Thompson is a senior Lecturer in Accounting and Programme Leader for the Accounting and Finance degree at the University of Derby. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. David studied a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and Engineering at the university of Nottingham. He has specialised in audit, with professional experience with three Chartered Accountancy Practices in Derbyshire. He holds Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education and Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector qualifications. David is also the programme Leader for the collaborative partner provision of Accounting and Finance, which provides Accounting degree programmes in Malaysia and Singapore. His research interests focus on audit and governance.
