I am a second-year Games Art student and want to work hard to hone my skills and improve as a generalist!
You might be feeling a bit worried or uneasy about what there is and what the course entails but I am here to answer all your questions. No matter how big the question or how small :)
Whilst I'm not in the other animation pathways (3D/VFX, 2D animation, Comic & Concept Art) I can always give my knowledge in those areas too. Just pop a message over!

Hi I’m Abbie 🫶🏻. I am a primary education student here at Leeds trinity completing my first year currently. I live at home and commute in for my lectures. I am a course representative so look very closely into student feedback. I am also the mental health officer for Leeds trinity and look forward to building campaigns to help those at trinity! I was very nervous joining university but realised very quickly it’s like family where everyone is supportive and tries to help at any opportunity. The campus is beautiful and I love to study in lots of different spaces to change up the scenery every now and again! I have a dog walking business to satisfy my love of animals and am also a student ambassador for university. I work part time in a pub not far from the university and love to go running in my spare time to clear my mind! I came from sixth form to university and knew what course I wanted to do. I’m here to answer all of your questions about life at university hoping to give an insight on the student life and what to expect!

Hi! I am a second year Psychology and Counselling student from London. At first, I couldn’t imagine myself moving from London all the way up north to Scotland, but I have definitely found my second home here. The most significant aspect of my journey to Strathclyde was that last year, I was enrolled at a different university, on an entirely different course than I am now. I can completely resonate with feelings of being unsure of your future, your direction, and not knowing where you can go to ask questions freely. In my latter years of school, I felt like there was no significant pull to any which subject or university, and so when starting university last year, I struggled to know whether I had made the right choice. When I started to feel as though Psychology was more what I wanted to study, and that the university I was at was not suited to my wants and needs, I felt at first like I had no options, and had gone in the wrong direction for my future with no way to redirect myself. I then realised that this experience was valuable, as I learnt about myself, and what I wanted in a university, course, and campus. Strathclyde was my number one university from the moment I looked into it as for me, it ticked all my boxes. I reapplied to UCAS and here I am now!

As for my course, I started feeling as though Psychology and Counselling would suit me as in addition to my interest in multiple strands of psychology, including Neuropsychology and Behaviourism specifically, I believe mental health is an increasingly important topic of discussion. I feel very strongly that current education and resources provided, particularly to young people, require critical improvement that is long overdue. Having a nurturing personality, a disposition to listen to others rather than to speak, and a passion to help those struggling silently, I chose a degree within which I can take my first steps towards entering a profession, such as a counsellor, where I can contribute to the fight against mental health difficulties. I am very excited to use my ever-developing skills in my future occupation, but for now, I am enjoying being a university student at the University of Strathclyde!
