University of Wales Trinity Saint DavidFilm & TV (MArts, BA)I came to this degree as a mature student having done a Higher Education access course, and chose to study at UWTSD Swansea because its Film & TV course is ranked the best in Wales. My main creative passion is writing and I intend to use the skills that I develop in this degree to become a screenwriter when I graduate. Elisha

University College BirminghamProsthetics for Film and Television, MAFrom 2016-2018 I studied Art, Photography and Psychology A-Levels at Princethorpe College, Rugby, and after not being too sure of what I wanted to study at university I decided to throw myself into full time employment. I then came across the Specialist Hair and Media Make-Up course here at University College Birmingham and applied in 2020. Moving cities during the pandemic was very strange, however I soon became very comfortable at The Maltings where I lived with the majority of my classmates. After three years of study, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree and I have now moved onto studying Prosthetics for Film and Television MA. Alongside the masters degree, University College Birmingham gave me the opportunity to work for them as an intern in the Marketing Department as part of the masters internship bursary scheme, where my course is paid for in the form of 400 hours of work over the academic year (September-July), which has been a huge benefit for myself financially. I also work as a part time front of house team member at a restaurant in Birmingham city centre, I enjoy this job a lot as I get to interact with lots of different people, I also feel very accepted there as I am free to express myself with my piercings, tattoos and makeup. King's College LondonFilm StudiesI've always been a creative person, fascinated by storytelling in all its forms—whether through film, photography, design, music, or writing. Growing up in Brazil, I was constantly drawn to the arts, but I also had a deep curiosity for subjects like psychology, neuroscience, and biology, which influence the way I approach filmmaking today. Before starting my undergraduate degree, I completed the International Foundation Programme in Liberal Arts and Social Sciences at King’s, which helped me transition into university life while exploring different academic fields. Now, I’m focused on filmmaking, with a particular passion for directing, cinematography, and screenwriting, always exploring the intersection of film with human emotions. I'm passionate about how film can spark feelings, shift perspectives, and bring powerful stories to life, and I hope to one day create projects that resonate with audiences and leave a lasting impact. As an international student, I’ve also had the opportunity to live in Denmark and now in the UK, which has shaped not only my worldview but also my creative approach. Moving to a new country and adapting to a different education system can be both exciting and overwhelming, so I’m happy to share my experiences and offer advice to prospective students who might be going through a similar journey. If you're considering studying Film Studies, starting university, or just curious about life at King’s, feel free to reach out!
