The World needs cleaner and efficient processes to move towards a sustainable society. This requires highly qualified engineers with unique skills to drive the needed changes towards sustainable chemical and manufacturing industries. Graduates from the Sustainable Process Engineering programmes will acquire knowledge and hands-on experience into the design, commissioning, operation, and optimization of chemical and manufacturing processes with special emphasis in sustainability aspects (environmental, social and economic impact). This will be through a series of specialized and challenging modules such as Fundamentals of Sustainability, Carbon Management Technologies, Sustainable Engineering, Sustainable Process Engineering Design Project, amongst others. Students joining the programme will learn about relevant sustainability topics such as energy efficiency, renewable sources of energy, hydrogen economy, life cycle assessment, waste management and utilization, carbon capture, storage and utilization from experts in the different fields. They will also have the opportunity to develop leadership and entrepreneurial competencies and gain practical experience in the use of specialized engineering design and simulation software, as well as in the use analytical equipment that can be applied in industry.
