The purpose of this programme of study in Construction Management is to develop you as a professional, self-reflecting individual able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world.
The southwest region has seen a huge growth in major construction projects including – Hinckley Point C, and the electrification of train lines demanding construction managers are ready for the latest approached for major projects.
Within this programme you will be given a broad introduction to
construction and different construction management functions. You will gain a wide range of construction knowledge linked to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios.
You will be involved in vocational activities that will help to develop your behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for a competence) and transferable skills such as communication, teamwork, research and analysis.
By the end of this programme you will have sound knowledge of the basic concepts of construction; and be competent in a range of subject-specific skills as well as in general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of construction
