Our joint honours course allows you to pursue your own areas of interest within Anthropology and International Relations which will serve as a springboard for your future career development. The programme is carefully designed to enable you to gradually develop your knowledge and skills, and become effective and independent learners.
When you study Anthropology, you’ll explore what makes us human, what drives our diversity and how we’re connected to our environment. International Relations provides you with the opportunity to develop your understanding and knowledge of world politics, focusing on issues such as nationalism, global justice, security, migration and climate change.
Links between research and undergraduate teaching are an important and distinctive feature of the programme, and the combined research experience and competencies of staff have shaped its design, content and delivery.
We are Top 20 in the UK: Anthropology and International Relations is ranked 16th in the Guardian Anthropology and Archaeology subject league ranking 2025.
