Whether you work in a global organisation, a small or medium-sized business enterprise (SME), public sector or a not-for-profit organisation, this Business Management (1 year top-up) course helps you to become a successful business manager of the future.

The teaching and learning on the business management top up course is informed by contemporary academic research. There is also significant collaboration with business organisations, industry practitioners and other external stakeholders – to equip you with the skills you’ll need in the workplace.

This course brings together business insights that focus on international, sustainable and ethical business practices. You’ll explore the practical issues that global organisations face, and the digital solutions they use.
We select learning themes and materials to represent a diversity of global contexts and perspectives.
You'll focus on current real-world global challenges through problem-solving exercises. In some of the modules you study, you’ll also have opportunities for flexible and personalised learning – including the assessment tasks you undertake.

We’ll support your transition into level 6 study with guidance on how to present information, how to critically evaluate issues and how to work within teams. We also offer study skills support for international students.

Live Projects
Assessments are rooted in the real-world contexts faced by businesses. Assessment formats include written reports, essays, individual and group presentations, self reflective tasks and in-class tests.
Field Trips
We offer trips to a variety of organisations, including local SMEs and multinational firms with operations in the UK. These are great chances to see the types of environments you may be working within in the future.

The following entry points are available for this course:
Applicants normally need one of the following
• a foundation degree, HND or equivalent qualification in business and/or management, with an overall merit profile from year two modules
• 120 year one and 120 year two credits, with an overall mark of 55 per cent or above, from a relevant business degree or equivalent
We welcome applications from people of any age. There may be some flexibility in entry requirements provided you have other relevant learning or experience. This must show that you will benefit from and successfully finish the course.
