Course summary

This is a Level 4 stand alone qualification that covers the first year of our Degree Programme. The course can be studied on a full time basis over one academic year, or part time over two years and will enable those students who are unable to commit to studying for a full BA Honours degree to have an understanding of, and learn the basic skills required in Fashion: Design and Construction.

The programme aims to develop students’ abilities and confidence in designing and constructing garments through practice-led experience and processes that foster the development of individual design identity. At Carmarthen School of Art, class sizes are small and tutor contact is second to none.

You can expect a varied programme of assignments that highlight the importance of technical skills within the industry. The course is a member college of the prestigious British Fashion Council which gives colleges and students access to esteemed industry projects and internships.
