Overview
At UEA, we believe everyone should have the chance to study at degree level. You might not yet have the required grades. You may need a little extra support. You may need time to decide where your interests lie. If so, then our BA International Relations and Politics with a Foundation Year course is the perfect choice.
Join us for an intensive and exciting year of study. You’ll focus on the topics which interest you and create a toolkit of essential academic skills.
We’ll support you to work towards your own learning goals in an encouraging, rewarding environment. You'll study with dedicated lecturers from UEA’s Interdisciplinary Institute for the Humanities. In addition to Interntaional Relations and Politics, you’ll explore a wide range of adjacent academic subjects, including History, Philosophy, Film, Media, History of Art and Literature. We’ll help you make connections between different disciplines to spark your curiosity.
While studying with us, you’ll have access to all the opportunities and resources that UEA and Norwich have to offer. From the Media Suite to the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts, you’ll have the space to grow your interests outside the seminar room.
As you develop your own academic interests and passions, you’ll then be well-placed to progress onto the degree that’s the best fit for you. After successfully completing your foundation year, you’ll move straight onto the BA International Relations and Politics degree. Alternatively, you can request to transfer to one of a selection of other undergraduate course within the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, subject to taking the required prerequisite modules. Use the foundation year to springboard onto the degree of your choice and take control of your future studies.

Additional fee information
Tuition fees increase annually for all students in subsequent years of study. Any fee increase is based on the fee for the year that you register. Home undergraduate fees, whose rates are regulated by the UK Government, will be amended in line with any alteration advised by the UK Government. Fees not regulated by the UK Government will increase by a maximum of 4% or RPI-X whichever is the higher. RPI-X is the Retail Prices Index excluding mortgage interest.
