Chemistry is often referred to as the 'central science'. It covers topics as diverse as quantum mechanics and the study of atomic particles, to the molecular nature of biological systems and the Human Genome Project.
This degree will give you a strong grounding in fundamental chemistry. You'll also develop specialist knowledge of green chemistry, which is increasingly important in industry as regulations tighten and chemical resources become harder to find.

Essential Subjects:
Chemistry (or equivalent) at grade A is essential. A second Science or Mathematics is preferred. We consider the following subjects as a second Science: Biology, Computer Science, Electronics, Environmental Science, Further Mathematics, Geology, Mathematics, Physics and Psychology.
Information: Applicants taking Science A Levels that include a practical component will be required to pass.
We consider a range of BTEC qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications.
A Level in Chemistry at grade A or equivalent qualification) is essential.
We consider BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Applied Science (2016 syllabus) with all 7 mandatory units plus at least 4 units from 10,13,14,18,19.
Pass Access to HE Diploma with 39 credits at Distinction including at least 15 in Chemistry-related units, 15 in a second Science (Biology, Mathematics or Physics) and 6 at Merit or higher.

35 with 6 in Higher Level Chemistry and 5 in another Higher Level Science or Mathematics subject.
OR
36 with 6 in Higher Level Chemistry.
We will consider this qualification alongside or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications, as equivalent to one A Level.
We recognise the value of this qualification although it will not be included as a condition of entry. It may be taken in to consideration when you receive your results.
We consider a range of OCR qualifications equivalent to 3 A Levels, or in combination with A Levels or other qualifications.
A Level in Chemistry (or equivalent qualification) at grade A is essential. We may also consider relevant units in your OCR Cambridge Technical as A Level Science equivalent.
We consider a range of T Level qualifications, in combination with an A Level in Chemistry (or equivalent qualification). Please contact us to discuss your qualifications.
