Course summary

This programme provides a solid theoretical and empirical grounding in International Relations.
You will study the ideas, actors, and structures which shape and influence the world we live in.

You can choose from a range of specialist modules allowing you to structure the course largely according to your own interests, choosing topics such as:

  • international organisations

  • security and foreign policy

  • international political economy

  • Chinese, African, Middle Eastern, Russian, or US politics

You can undertake, and report on, an independently conducted research exercise and you’ll have the opportunity to study abroad at one of our partner institutions across the world.

Extended Project

We welcome applications from students offering an Extended Project and value the skills of research and independent learning that it is designed to develop. If you offer an Extended Project, it will be taken into account as part of your application profile, but we will not usually include it in offer conditions for this degree programme.
