We appreciate that you want to learn hands-on, so our Film Production degree is designed to give you 70% practical experience with 30% theory. By choosing to study film production at university, you’ll develop both your technical and creative skills as you create your own film productions, giving you the opportunity to showcase your talents, as well as your in-depth knowledge.
Gain confidence in using high-spec, industry-standard equipment, including our range of digital cameras: Blackmagic Pocket, Blackmagic Ursa Mini Pro and the spectacular Arri-Alexa Mini LF.
In particular, the Arri-Alexa is a phenomenal piece of kit. Used in a range of successful and BAFTA award-winning films, including 1917, The Batman and Dune, you’ll learn how to shoot film to the highest standard.
You can also take advantage of our fantastic facilities. From our very own professional TV studio and TV Gallery to our multi-functional studio, lighting, and teaching spaces, you won’t be disappointed with what we have to offer here at CCCU.
As a film student, you will have access to a range of industry speakers, including alumni from the University. Past guests have included BFI (The British Film Institute), NBC Universal, BBC, ITV Studios, Netflix, Warner Bros/Discovery, Formula One, and freelancers whose specialisms include first AD, foley sound, and production design. We have also hosted previous visits from post-production companies such as Halo, Envy, and Molinare.
You’ll also have the opportunity to study in North America for a year to enhance your academic and cultural experience.

Along with excellent resources on campus, you’ll have access to the Powell building which houses a range of facilities and industry equipment so you can produce work of the highest quality, these include:

Location
This course is run at our Canterbury Campus in Kent. Canterbury is just 50 miles south-east of London and less than an hour by high-speed train from St Pancras. Located on a UNESCO World Heritage Site the campus offers state-of-the-art buildings, right in the centre of a vibrant and world-famous cathedral city. You’ll benefit from a campus with excellent learning and teaching resources, music venues, a superb sports centre, a well-stocked bookshop and plenty of coffee bars and places to eat. A short walk away is Augustine House our award-winning library and home to a vast range of learning resources and student support teams.

Home (UK) Fees
Home (UK) tuition fees for Foundation Years at Canterbury Christ Church University will be set in line with the maximum tuition fee cap for foundation years in classroom-based subjects or non-classroom-based subjects, as set by the UK Government.
Home (UK) tuition fees for subsequent years 1-3 are currently set in line with the maximum tuition fee cap for standard undergraduate degrees set by the UK Government.
The Government has announced that it will increase the tuition fee cap by 3.1%, in line with inflation, for the 2025/26 academic cycle. Subject to parliamentary approval, the University intends to increase our tuition fees in line with this and as per our terms and conditions. This means that from September 2025 onwards, our undergraduate home tuition fees for subsequent years of study are expected to be £9,535.
International Tuition Fees (including EU fees
Undergraduate tuition fees for International students are not subject to the Government’s regulations on maximum tuition fees.
