Summary
Allied healthcare professions, including physiotherapy, radiography and occupational therapy, offer diverse and rewarding career paths, but many students are unaware of the full range of options or what these roles truly involve. This session will help teachers and advisers feel more confident in guiding students through the decision-making and application process.
You’ll gain insight into typical entry requirements and course structures, and learn how to support students in identifying courses that align with their interests, strengths, and long-term goals. We’ll also discuss how to help students reflect meaningfully on their motivations and suitability for these professions, especially when access to traditional work experience is limited. Finally, we’ll look at how to manage expectations and encourage realistic, well-informed applications that give students the best chance of success.
