On 24 September, Chris Massey from UCAS, the organisation which manages admissions to UK universities and colleges, will be at Limerick Racecourse in Patrickswell to explain the process and more.
Chris will be part of the Mid-West Institute of Guidance Counsellors Careers Exhibition, which is expected to attract over 3,000 people interested in hearing all the options.
Applications for undergraduate courses in the UK starting in autumn 2014 can be sent to UCAS now. So it’s a good time to find out about deadlines, getting the best out of open days, writing personal statements, and interview preparation.
Each year around 6,000 students from Ireland apply to UK universities and colleges, and some 2,000 are accepted.
Chris, who is UCAS’ International Manager said: “I’m delighted to be in Limerick this week. I know that thousands of people from the Republic of Ireland want to study in the UK each year, but I also know that our system of applying is very different from the CAO. Students often have lots of questions about the UCAS process.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for me to talk directly to anyone thinking of studying in the UK next year. I want to support their decision-making and help them to make quality applications.”
