The UCAS search tool has been updated to make it easier to find, save, and shortlist courses. Advice on researching courses has also been improved, as a recent UCAS survey found that around half of postgraduate students consider studying at a different university from their first degree.
The application has been completely redesigned. It’s intuitive and easy-to-use, enabling students to present a complete picture of their achievements, and upload supporting documents, such as portfolios and certificates.
Universities benefit from being able to connect with millions of current undergraduate students, using an efficient, integrated solution for course promotion and applications management.
Clare Marchant, UCAS Chief Executive, said: ‘UCAS is internationally-renowned for running a successful undergraduate service, and today we bring that skill and experience together to release a significantly improved postgraduate admissions service.
'I’m grateful to all the students and colleagues across the university sector that have worked with us throughout the development process. Their ideas and feedback have shaped our new admissions service so that it is designed with students’ needs at its heart, and is able to support applications from students across the world.’
Of the nearly 30,000 postgraduate applications made through UCAS in 2017, 8,585 (29%) were from UK students, and 20,625 (71%) were from international students. As international students often have several documents such as passports and transcripts to support their applications, having everything in one place will make the application process more efficient.

Notes to editors
UCAS, the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service, is a charity, and the UK's shared admissions service for higher education. We manage almost three million applications from around 700,000 people each year for full-time undergraduate courses, at over 370 universities and colleges across the UK.
The new UCAS Postgraduate service replaces the UKPASS application service, which closed on Friday 1 June.
Delivering accessible and trusted admissions services in our priority markets, which are responsive to the needs of the next generation of customers, is one of UCAS’ key strategic objectives, as outlined in our refreshed strategy, Future Focus.
