Students in Bucharest, Romania, thinking of applying to university in the UK can get answers from an expert adviser this weekend.
Tony Charlton from UCAS, the organisation which manages admissions to UK universities and colleges, will be at the British Council’s Education UK exhibition on Saturday 22 November 2014 to explain the process and more.
Tony will be part of the event at The Howard Johnson Grand Plaza Hotel in the capital, which is expected to attract thousands of people interested in hearing all the options.
In recent years, almost 3,000 students from Romania have applied to universities and colleges in the UK, the top overseas destination for Romanian students.
Applications for higher education courses in the UK starting in autumn 2015 can be sent now. So it’s a good time to hear about deadlines, getting the best out of open days, writing personal statements and interview preparation.
Tony, who is part of UCAS’ Professional Development Team said: “We know that thousands of students from Romania consider choosing the UK as a study destination each year and I want to make it easier for them to understand the UCAS process.
“Although the admissions system is straightforward, I know there will always be plenty of questions and I’m here to help.
“Many countries have no centralised system which manages applications to universities but the UK has UCAS to handle the process, meaning students need only fill out one application.
“This will be UCAS’ first visit to Romania and I look forward to meeting many students during the exhibition and providing them with excellent advice for their future.”
Tony will also be presenting sessions for teachers, advisers and agents during his visit, providing them with great advice that can be passed onto their own students.
Clicking on Apply on the UCAS website is just the start of a journey which requires detailed research.
