As of midnight, 30,350 applicants have been accepted into a Scottish university or college, a 5 per cent increase compared to SQA results day last year.
Some 24,480 Scottish applicants have won a place in UK higher education, an increase of 1,050 (4 per cent) compared to the same stage last year. The majority (23,780) have been placed at a Scottish institution.
By the end of the application cycle last year, 31,495 Scottish applicants were accepted by universities and colleges through UCAS, 29,850 at institutions in Scotland.
Applicants can log in to Track on the UCAS website this morning to see if they have been accepted or are eligible for Clearing – though they won’t be able to make a formal Clearing choice until early afternoon.
After checking their status in Track, eligible applicants can browse Clearing vacancies on the UCAS website. They’ll need to call universities and colleges beforehand to discuss courses that interest them, in search of a provisional offer.

Students also have the option of applying again for entry next year and courses beginning in 2015 are now available to view on our website.
In 2013, 1,550 Scottish students found a place through Clearing, and 1,335 of those went to institutions in Scotland.
